Elżbieta Adamowicz

The optimal solution to many problems of decision-making in the modern enterprise is dependent on the use of economic analysis, providing varying degrees of aggregated, processed and verified information. Economic analysis is seen as an essential tool in the planning and implementation of activities and making optimal decisions by the management. Using signals from the market allows companies to adapt to changes in the environment, identifying business risks and design solutions. It plays an important role in the system of early warning about the risks of doing business. Economic analysis is used at all levels of decision-making areas both short-term (operating) and long term (strategic). Contemporary challenges and market conditions indicate that the economic analysis is the basic tool to support decision making in the areas of business development, competitiveness, innovation and sustainable development (implementation of corporate social responsibility). This article aims to identify the role of economic analysis in decisionmaking processes of modern enterprises with particular emphasis on the situation of transport companies.
