Development of knowledge in the pre-industrial era - a historical perspective
Wojciech Bizon , Natalia Lubińska
AbstractKnowledge is the source of a progress in a modern economy. This progress, however, was not sustainable or even as rapid in the past as it is today. The article explains the evolution of knowledge over the ages: how it was manifested and what its influence was on the economy and on society in the pre-industrial era – up until the industrial revolution and the dissemination of capitalism.
