Sposób zakupu ubezpieczeń a kryteria wyboru ubezpieczyciela w segmencie rolnym

AbstractThe insurance purchase process is not an independent activity, it is influenced by many different factors, among which one can distinguish: sources of information on this market, own experience with insurances, activity of various insurance companies in this industry and criteria for selecting an insurer. In the article, the authors verify the statement that the criteria for selecting an insurer directly translate into the method of insurance purchase in the analyzed segment, while understanding the differences in the functioning of insurance services on the agricultural market in comparison to other markets (e.g. to the SME market). Understanding of the relation between the criteria of the insurer's choice and the way of the purchase requires the presentation of a broader background of insurance functioning in the agricultural segment. The background of functioning is possible to describe because of the collected primary and secondary information. Conclusions resulting from the article indicate that despite the specificity of various market segments (agricultural segment, SME segment) the way how they function, in the context of the way of insurance purchase, shows a lot of similarities, and the key to gaining competitive advantage is excellent knowledge of clients (current and potential), their preferences, behaviours, lifestyle, attitude to the market. Only thanks to this it is possible for insurance companies to function effectively in this market segment.
