Oskar Miłosz jako duchowy przewodnik Czesława Miłosza

Magdalena Stola

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the special role of Oskar Miłosz in shaping the worldview of Czesław Miłosz, especially in matters of religion. As the author of metaphysical poems, the French poet was an inspiration for the Nobel Prize winner to constantly search, re-evaluate, make specific reading choices, and translate. Czesław Miłosz creatively developed and commented on the views of Oskar Miłosz regarding time, space, poetry, imagination and science. The paper is an attempt to reflect on the questions posed by the Nobel Prize winner in the context of his cousin’s writings. Moreover, the author tries to show the interest of Czesław Miłosz in the hermetic works of Oskar Miłosz as part of the quest for a metaphysical trend, which is the real life of religion.
