Supplier parks and agent-based technologies as efficient solutions for complexity management in automotive industry
AbstractDue to their geographical dispersion and multi-national supply networks global supply chains are not able to manage logistics without proper technologies and organizational solutions. In the last two decades, few solutions have appeared which would change the traditional logistics management concepts. These include, but are not limited to, supplier parks (and their successors) and agent-based technologies. These concepts support implementing the BTO strategy in the automotive industry and help to manage complexity, especially in the area of variant management in the case of multi-variant products.
