Abstract

Innovativeness plays very important role in the process of competitiveness and is crucial in entrepreneurship. Innovations mean fast responding to market needs. Eco-innovations are a special type of innovations. They lead to sustainable development, because for example they reduce the use of natural resources and decrease the release of harmful substances across the whole life-cycle. In this context eco-innovations are the green source of entrepreneurship. The Eco-Innovation Scoreboard presents eco-innovation performance across EU Member States. Its dimensions and indicators compared to measurement framework of European Innovation Scoreboard allow to determine the main factors in the process of eco-innovation creation. The analysis is based on indicators which are relative strengths of the innovation system in leading countries of UE.
