"Kapelani UPA" - próba demitologizacji pojęcia i zjawiska

Igor Hałagida

Abstract

The author, based on archival sources, memoires and scholarly literature, attempts to demythologize the concept of "the chaplains of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army", which appears in both historical publications and widely understood journalism. In his opinion, there was no phenomenon that could be described as "UPA chaplains". We can possibly talk about Ukrainian Greek Catholic and Orthodox "unofficial priests" or "clergy who have joined for various reasons the underground", but from a formal point of view they were not chaplains. It was not a large group either
