Restrepia nicolasii (Orchidaceae : Pleurothallidinae), une nouveauté taxinomique du Guatemala

Fredy Archila Morales , Dariusz Lucjan Szlachetko , Eduardo A. Pérez-Garcia , Guy Chiron

A thorough comparative analysis of the morphology of a population of Restrepia found in the mountains of Coban, Guatemala, with the known Restrepia species led us to accept it as a new species. It is described, illustrated and compared to its closest relative, Restrepia vasquezii. As a result of this analysis, it seems that the basal disc of the gynostemium could be a good feature to differentiate the Restrepia at the specific level.
