Pedagogika osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną jako swoisty system o charakterze teoretycznym i praktycznym w procesie przemian
AbstractThe chapter attempts to consider the changes that occurred both in the area of upbringing persons with intellectual disability and in a specialized field of special needs education- pedagogy of persons with intellectual disability. The abovementioned issues have been analysed with reference to the scientific paradigms shift of intellectual disability, the change of the socio-cultural context as well as developmental tendencies in special needs education. The presentation of the history behind the rise of the concept of possibilities of caretaking activities over persons with intellectual disability, which were established before the empowerment of special needs education, creates the area for historical as well as sociological analyses. By executing an intra-disciplinary revaluation of outdated and authorized history, the importance of disciplinary criteria of effective extension of disciplinary cognition (referring to the model of disciplinary non-continuity of science) has been indicated. These intra-disciplinary revaluations allow not only to criticize the past evaluations of the history of the discipline, but also to out-distance the products of false evaluation of the ability of a discipline to create valuable knowledge in not known areas. The sensitivity towards the variability of the dynamic forms of a science may not weaken the sensitivity to differentiate the scientific (disciplinary) form of knowledge.
