Lepraria juanfernandezii, a new lichen species from the Southern Hemisphere

AbstractLepraria juanfernandeziiis described as a new species. It differs from all other species ofLeprariaby its aggregate thallus with sparse prothallus hyphae, the absence of a hypothallus, the presence of divaricatic acid and the absence of zeorin, and its occurrence in the Southern Hemisphere. A key to all species ofLeprariacontaining divaricatic acid is given.
